Marine Tourism and Dive Resort Management

Marine Tourism Management - A career with international opportunities

Tourism represents one of Australia's fastest growing industries providing great job opportunities. Luxury cruise ships and marine dive resorts are becoming the fastest growing segments of the travel industry. Over 800 cruise liners sail the world's oceans and there are new ones being built every year.

Perth Institute was the first Institute in Western Australia to offer the opportunity for students to gain a superior marine, dive and resort management qualification through a stimulating combination of theoretical and practical education.

Perth Institute's courses offer many new job opportunities to individuals who want to explore the world for free. Jobs in the cruise line industry offer graduates the opportunity to experience diverse cultures, learn a new language and meet people from all over the world.

International employment opportunities includes cruise ships, travel to the Western Mediterranean, Greece, Turkey, the Caribbean, Alaska, Mexico, Galapagos Islands, the Bahamas, Florida and resorts within Australia.

Industry placement

All students are required to complete industry placement or work experience as parttime or casual work while studying or during the Institute's study break. Perth Institute provides free industry placement, work experience and lifetime job placement service to all graduates. The Institute can assist students to apply for jobs on cruise liners and island resorts including Bedarra Island, Hamilton Island, Nara Seaworld Resort in Australia and Fort Ilocanda Resort Hotel in the Philippines.

One year paid internship in Asia

Graduates of Perth Institute are offered the unique opportunity to undertake one year paid internship in a five star hotel or resort in Asia. Perth Institute has developed a network of five star hotels and resorts in major cities in Asia for its internship program. The partner hotel or resort in Asia provides return air ticket, food and accommodation and a monthly allowance to its graduates. Many graduates are offered permanent positions in the same hotel or other hotels after their internship.
